Hello, friends! I wanted to share a few things I’m reading, watching, and listening to in case we have something in common.

Reading, Fourth Wing is very popular, and I’m about 3/4 of the way through. It follows so many of the familiar tropes you love in a dragon school fantasy. I’m completely engaged and enjoying this book. There’s comfort in the familiar, and Fourth Wing brings in all the juicy stuff we love, as well as some new twists on the familiar storyline. The unexpected girl is the chosen one. She’s weak, but become strong. Falls for the bad guy that we swoon over. She’s special. Even her hair is a unique color that tells us she’s special. Dead family members that understood her more than her crabby mom does. Yeah, you’ve read this book before, but I’m still completely pulled in. Go check it out. You will love this escape. And that first kiss, y’all. Wait for it!

Watching, Homeland. I just finished this series and I must admit the ending was one of the best endings to a series I have ever witnessed. Carrie and Saul forever! You can now find this series on Hulu and Stars. The writers did a remarkable job showing us how unstable and brilliant Carrie can be. She’s a CIA agent who thinks outside the box. Like, way outside the box. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty and go against orders. Saul is her mentor, and their relationship is complicated as he stands in as a father figure and know it all boss. Great series. I wish I could watch it again for the first time.

Listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers since I saw them in concert last night! They still rock, in case you were wondering. The show at Hershey Park, PA was much too short of a set and that left me a little unsatisfied, but what we did get was rich funky tunes by this rock band from the 90s. The people watching was on point! More flannels than you could count. Heads banging. People shouting the lyrics. Pure magic.

Podcast of the week is Scamanda. I’m following Amanda through her fake cancer diagnosis and treatments as she steals thousands of dollars from supporters, church, and school fundraisers. It’s amazing how far she’ll go to keep the scam going. I’m not through yet, and I’m wondering if she believe she is as sick as she portrays, or if she’s really in it for they sympathy and cash. I’m listening to this on Spotify.

How about you? Next on my reading list is The Firekeeper’s Daughter, and on my audio will be Weyward.
