I sit here trying to type with one hand, balancing my 16 month old on one knee as she plays with a bell on a string. Some Christmas decoration that missed getting packed away. I think about what the world will look like when she’s my age. It’s terrifying. I think about a world, where people aren’t so angry the minute they wake in the morning. A place where children of all backgrounds are provided education and don’t go to bed hungry and fearful. Maybe it’s a dream. John Lennon had some powerful ideas, so powerful, just like many brilliant men and women, it got him killed. Why is violence the answer when people feel threatened by words? I’ll never understand it.
