The Mothers: A Book Review

Book review on The Mothers, a Novel by Brit Bennett. I really struggled to rate this book a 3 or a 4. In the end, I choose a 3 because of pacing. The story is good, it involves three main characters with lives that are tangled together in difficult situations of young love, big choices, and old habit that are hard to break. The title of the book represents a group of older woman at a church who witness, and gossip, about all things happening in their congregation. They are responsible for more than the story lets on, the effects of gossip at any age is dangerous. I felt a connection to the main characters and their story, while it did move along, I felt it wasn’t a page-turner.
